Who we are
We’re StudioRecess — a full service interior design studio based in Kirikiriroa.
We are a tight knit team of creators, collaborators & lovers of design.
We have extensive experience in hospitality & fitout design as well as commercial office spaces. A recent addition to our services is residential interiors.
We design for a relaxed, warm environment with a focus on textures, quality materials and unique details within a space.

DESIGN DIRECTOR
Courtenay Paul
Courtenay comes from a design and management background. While overseeing all the work that comes out of the studio she guides the overall design direction & covers the planning & management of projects. She has an eye for detail, and a focus on creating spaces that carry an interesting and appealing aesthetic as well as being functional. A great space needs to look good and operate well!
Lead interior designer
Ashlee Walters
With her attention to detail combined with a love of colour and pattern, Ash likes to give her clients confidence in their design choices. She is able to help them define, and create cohesive spaces. Ashlee has a great passion and knowledge for landscape design too, making her a great asset to the team.
Interior & SPaTial Designer
Loura Limjoco
Loura used to study Architecture but later on found out that Interior Design is more of her calling. She has a knack for incorporating her passion for learning new technologies and software in her work. Her designs reflect her love for sustainability, nature and photography.
HOW WE WORK
We find people often have a general plan but get overwhelmed with all the decisions and how to put it all together. That’s where we come in!
We will work with you to guide you through this process and help you create a meaningful space that reflects you & how you live. No matter where you are in your design journey, it’s not too late to pull us in!

That’s where we come in – we will reduce the noise, hone your ideas, identify the purpose and help you create a space that speaks to you. Our wide range of services can be tailored to your requirements and can be added in at any stage of your design journey

Choosing your colour combo’s can be overwhelming - which white is right? We provide an interior & exterior colour consultation to go over the requirements and preferred finishes for your house.
We then help select your colours, provide paint drawdowns and a colour & product specification list. This package contains everything you need to start your Interior or exterior painting project.

After our virtual design service we can continue with your project if you are time poor and source and style the items for your space.

Perfect for those that need help getting started and a general design direction to work from. We will provide you with a visual moodboard & product specification sourcing list for you to work from at your own pace. This package can be customised to suit your requirements.

Most of your design decisions are made but now you have to choose finishes… This specification package will be customised to suit your space and can include - specialized wall linings, tiles, benchtops, joinery, cabinetry, flooring and more.
